Internship Alica 1920x900px

Amt meets KAOS – about my internship week at KAOS

Hello, my name is Alica and I spent a week at KAOS for a social media internship. When I'm not busy interning at KAOS, I work at the district office in Ravensburg. As part of my social media project, I got the chance to gain an insight into the day-to-day life of the agency at KAOS.

my first impression

I was warmly greeted at the door by the dual student Linda. She led me to my workstation, which I immediately noticed: MacBooks everywhere, wow! You can only dream of that in public administration. There was also a welcome card with sweets on my desk, which I was very happy about.

As soon as I arrived, I was shown around and introduced to the entire team. At KAOS, everyone is on first name terms, which is something I rarely see in my day-to-day work. This made a very refreshing, relaxed impression on me and I immediately felt very well looked after and welcome.

About my tasks – From City Donut to benefits to customer references

Create three Instagram posts for the opening of a fictional donut shop called “City Donut”? Who? How? What? By when? Once the task was clear, I sat down and started working. Since every intern at KAOS gets this task, I thought about how I could set myself apart from my predecessors and the well-known donut chains. I decided on Vegan City Donuts. With the green design, I tried to reflect the niche of vegan donuts in my posts. Without much prior knowledge in this area, I went wild and the result was impressive.

Another task I had to create a reel for a customer reference. This was completely new territory for me and I found it very difficult at first. After a few suggestions from Instagram and my colleagues from the KAOS team, I got to work. What I realized was that a single post takes a lot of work and time and that it is not that easy to constantly deliver new content in the long run.

The shortage of skilled workers affects almost every industry, which is why KAOS is also recruiting new employees. My part here was to prepare the benefits in an Insta post. The difficulty here was to get as much information as possible onto a slide without it appearing overloaded.

It's time to say Good-bye

Day by day I got better and better at using the programs on the MacBook and then my internship was drawing to a close. The week flew by, so it's time for me to say goodbye and thank the whole KAOS team for the great impressions and the pleasant time together. I was able to take a lot with me, especially with regard to my social media project, and I am very grateful for the time and commitment that was given to me.
