Implementation
The challenge was to fundamentally modernize the technologically outdated online presence and restructure the complex range of educational offerings. The new website had to reach diverse target groups, from apprentices and skilled workers to industry partners, efficiently and intuitively. The goal was to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and digital modernity and to position the center for what it is: unique, competent, and forward-looking.
Strategy
UX concept
In a multi-stage workshop, we jointly developed the strategic goals, set priorities, and defined clear user journeys based on detailed personas.
The focus was on user guidance: We redesigned the entire information architecture from the ground up and visualized it in wireframes. The goal was optimal navigation through the diverse departments and offerings.
Screen design
Modular design system
As part of the screen design process, the visual brand identity was also further developed to create a harmonious overall impression. We created a flexible, modular design system that conveys the center's values. The deliberate choice of colors (Deep Green, Fresh Green) and the modern typography emphasize the connection to wood as a material while ensuring a consistent and future-proof look across all digital media.
Enterprise CMS TYPO3
bilingualism
Newsletter systems
For the technical foundation, we opted for the enterprise CMS TYPO3. This process also included the complete migration of existing data from the legacy system. In parallel, we implemented essential SEO principles. Furthermore, we created the interfaces for integrating a newsletter system and laid the groundwork for an optional, password-protected area (e.g., for seminar materials).
Conclusion
The result is a digital presence that lives up to the standards of the Biberach Carpentry Centre: competent, modern and pioneering for the entire timber construction industry.
