        Tutorials are an unbeatable tool, especially when it comes to knowledge retention: they can be produced quickly, are accessible at any time, and are highly effective, especially for software or process knowledge. For them to be truly effective, planning, structure, and language are crucial.

        Tutorials that are actually watched

        1. One topic – not ten.

        A tutorial = a clearly defined topic. Instead of "explaining warehouse processes," focus on "correctly posting incoming goods." This keeps the focus and the video short.

        2. Test the length – divide the topic if necessary.

        If the explanation takes longer than five minutes, the topic is too broad. It's better to have two or three short videos, each with a clear focus, to keep attention high.

        3. Say what can be seen.

        Viewers must be able to follow the cursor. This means clear instructions like "top right," "click on the 'Save' button," or "below the table." The spoken text must match the screen display exactly.

        4. Think in pictures – don’t just explain.

        Even abstract topics like customer communication can be visualized: with flipcharts, icons, superimposed graphics, or example scenes. Important: Everything that can be seen should also be commented on.

        5. Script with keywords – do not read!

        It's better to speak casually than to read rigidly. Bullet points help you stay natural. Tip: Practice speaking beforehand, then it will sound confident – ​​and not like an audiobook.
