KAOS Werbeagentur is a full-service agency for digital marketing

KAOS is your personal contact for search engine optimization (SEO) & websites.

Search engine optimization (SEO) describes the process of making a website particularly easy to find in Google and other search engines. Your site should appear on the first results page for relevant keywords. Not even one percent of all clicks occur beyond the first page. SEO measures used to be relatively simple.

However, the robots that index websites have become increasingly intelligent. Successful websites today must therefore be optimized for visitors and search engines alike. The experts at the KAOS advertising agency can help you with this.

Necessary expert knowledge

The basic logic behind all SEO measures

In the past, search engine optimization was mainly about keyword stuffing. Certain key terms were used particularly frequently in a text. Google and others thought that the page had to be specifically about the word that was mentioned so often. You can still see this to some extent today. A certain number of key terms are still important. In this text, for example, the terms SEO and search engine optimization are considered central by Google or Bing. The logic is now different, however: search engines can use various tools to assess the quality of a website. This involves user-friendliness and the added value of the content for visitors. For example, Google identifies certain key terms. These enable the search engine to assign them to a specific topic area. User-friendliness and quality of content are then important for ranking.

The following points are of particular importance

link structures

Search engines use algorithms to index (i.e. analyze and evaluate) websites. These are "if, then" logic chains: "If I want to buy something, then I have to leave the house" is a very simple example. In the SEO area, if content is linked to other sites particularly often, then it obviously appeals to many users. They are therefore probably good. These links are called "backlinks". Backlinks from sites that have an excellent reputation with search engines are particularly popular. But internal links are also necessary. They show the search engines that the site has an internal logic. It is maintained. Content also grows organically here. Google and Co. view references in texts to older articles or other categories as a user-friendly offer. These links are therefore rewarded for search engine optimization.

Content "Content is king"

After 2010, search engines began to "understand" content. They cannot qualitatively weight different statements in comparison. But they are able to build expectations: content on certain topics must offer other words in addition to key terms in order to produce added value. For example: for SEO and search engine optimization, terms such as Google, links or content must appear. Since then, the motto has been "content is king." This means that it is now easiest to produce high-quality content straight away in order to meet the expectations of search engines.

descriptions or awards

Search engines use every opportunity to evaluate websites for their user-friendliness. Descriptions such as page titles or accompanying texts for images and videos are therefore important. It is also necessary to choose the right length here. There should also be markups in the text. Technically speaking, these are also descriptions. Bold passages, for example, are marked as particularly important. Google and Co. can now reliably distinguish between token descriptions and serious help. For example, it is no longer enough to just mark individual words in bold or italics.

Technical user-friendliness

SEO measures are not just the job of copywriters, web designers and advertising experts. Developers also have to help. The background is the necessary technical user-friendliness. Loading times should be short, for example. The same applies to click paths. The search engines measure how long visitors stay and whether they often leave a subpage, for example. With the right tools, these measurements can be tracked. You can then find and eliminate the weak points of your internet platform.

optimization for mobile devices "Mobile First"

Mobile devices have been overtaking desktop systems for some time now. Smartphones are used to access the Internet far more frequently than any other device class. In the interests of user-friendliness, it is therefore necessary to offer an optimized site for phones. This has given rise to the SEO principle of "mobile first". The search engines require that a mobile website is available first - then the desktop version is considered. There are also developments in this area in particular. For example, uniform design concepts across device classes are rewarded.
